RESIDENCY PROGRAMS

Learn how art and technology work side by side.

A private independent residency program run by Art Design Fabrication, a fabrication company dedicated to the digital craft of making art and design objects and installations for artists and designers.

 

All applications received will be placed on a waiting list for the next available residency session. Residency sessions are scheduled as our fabrication production schedule allows. 3 Day Onsite Program

Approved applicants will be placed on a waiting list for next available session dates.

  • Learn software workflows for creating files for CNC routing, laser cutting/engraving, digital embroidery, 3D printing, long arm automated sewing and more...
  • Produce a variety sample artworks on the machines to test new ideas and experiment.
  • Learn 2D and 3D fabrication techniques.
  • 3 Day Onsite is limited to 4 residents onsite at one time.

Soft Sculpture Session

Approved applicants will be placed on waiting list for next available session dates.

  • Textile technologies and traditional fiber techniques.
  • 5 days of workshops onsite with process demonstrations and time for individual project development.
  • Digital Embroidery for artists. 
  • Long Arm Sewing/Quilting Machining Automated and Free Motion Methods (Bernina Q24)
  • Laser Cutting and Etching Textiles
  • Dimensional Felting
  • Pattern Construction Techniques
  • Individual Project Development with Open Studio Time.

  • Maximum of 10 residents for this special 2017 Summer Program.

HyBrid Program

  • Individual Project Development
  • Prototype ideas and experiment with workflows based on proposed project ideas.
  • Learn fabrication techniques best suited for your project. 
  • Learn how to develop machinable files based on your project for CNC routing, laser cutting/engraving, digital embroidery, 3D printing, long arm automated sewing and more... 
  • Hybrid Residents can receive ADF services with a 20% discount for a fully fabricated project resulting from the Hybrid Program.
  • Applicants can note preferred dates for residency on application.
