The Big Move! DFR moves to new studios!

Upcoming residents will enjoy even more space and resources to create outstanding work here with the DFR team. We have moved to a new facilities to house our 3D Fabrication Studio and Textile Technology Studio. It is an exciting expansion we planned to help facilitate a wide range of processes and machines. This summer 2017 we are planning a busy program with artists from around the globe visiting. If you are interested in applying to our Summer 2017 program with residency sessions beginning in May, apply today to our 3 Day Onsite with the option to build in more time to your stay or apply to our Hybrid program for a more extensive time block with the DFR team exploring everything possible with technology and your ideas!

3D Fabrication Studio houses CNC router, Laser Cutter/Engraver and other assorted machines and tools including 3D printing in resin.

CNC Router can do a wide range of 2D to 3D cutting and carving. Materials that can be machined include wood, aluminum, acrylic, various types of foam, polycarbonate, corian and a wide range of other materials.

Formlabs keeps developing more approved materials for the Form 2 resin 3D printer. Most recent material is a ceramic resin, Form X a 3D print that can be fired after printing in a ceramic kiln. DFR residents can also print our FDM printer.
